MissionOZ is supporting sustainable Youth Projects and Australian volunteers in Tanzania, East Africa
Our Work
MissionOz is more than a fundraiser. It is a partner, cheerleader and believer in developing the capacity of youth in
Tanzania. It is committed to changing the story around youth in Tanzania through fundraising, education and resourcing.
MissionOz limits Australian-based expenditure to good governance, compliance with Australian regulations, essential
administration and receipting of funds, and minimal marketing and promotion costs.
YOUTH EMPOWER PROJECT
With our partner LEAD Tanzania we aim to establish 100 Self Help Groups for 2,000 youth living in extreme
poverty (many surviving on less than AUD$50 per month) in the slums of Tanzania.
A Self Help Group (SHG) through LEAD Tanzania will not educate children, dig wells or provide food, and will not hand out things causing dependancy
But for an investment of $30 per youth or $600 per SHG or $6000 per ward (10 SHGs), LEAD Tanzania will provide personal development and vocational training, community meetings to ensure community support, entrepreneurship mentoring and small group support.
Goals
To start 100 Self Help Groups (SHG) in Tanzania
2,000 youth join a SHG across 100 streets over 5 years
Personal development and skills training for every youth to start small self sustaining businesses
SHG Youth provide shelter, education,health care, food & nutrition for their families
SHG Youth become local community leaders and development advocates across their wards

Global Development Group
MissionOz Inc is a fundraising and support organisation for development projects in Tanzania. It is not authorised to accept and receipt tax-deductible funds and then forward those funds overseas. It gains access to these services through partnership with Global Development Group along with the following benefits: specialist development support, independent evaluation and assessment of all activity, accountability of expenditure of funds, and representation to Government entities in the event of a dispute or incident in Australia or within the overseas project.

Global Development Group (ABN 57 102 400 993) is an Australian NGO approved by the Minister for Foreign Affairs (as administered by DFAT). Tax deductible receipts for gifts over $2 with a preference for each of these approved development projects, will be issued by Global Development Group. If funds raised by Foxglove exceed the requirement for this project, funds may be directed to another approved activity. LEAD TANZANIA
LEAD Tanzania (Leadership Equipping And Development Tanzania) is a registered organisation in Tanzania and is our key partner. It is served by Australian volunteers and indigenous staff. It is committed to developing Christian leaders and has a strong focus of working with youth and young adults. For more information please visit www.leadtz.org
Funds
MissionOz has no dreams of becoming a large entity in Australia. In fact, we want to remain ‘mean and lean’. Though there are essential costs and expenditure required in Australia, our objective remains clear, to raise funds and resources to send to our in-country partner who are working with people living in poverty.
